Con un Concierto de Ganadores realizado el pasado miércoles 21 de julio en el Teatro Colón de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, finalizó la primera edición del Concurso Internacional de Violín Buenos Aires, certamen creado y presentado por la Fundación YPF y Comunidad Amijai.
The first edition of the International Violin Competition Buenos Aires, a contest created and presented by the YPF Foundation and the Amijai Community, came to an end on Wednesday 21st with the Laureates’ Concert at the Colón Theatre.
Los seis primeros lugares correspondieron a Jinjoo Cho, de Corea del Sur, Nigel Armstrong, de los EEUU, Hyuk Joo Kwun, de Corea del Sur, Xavier Inchausti, de Argentina, Soh-yon Kim, de Corea del Sur y Francesca Dego, de Italia.
The first six places were for Jinjoo Cho, from South Korea, Nigel Armstrong, from the USA, Hyuk Joo Kwun, from South Korea, Xavier Inchausti, from Argentina, Soh-yon Kim, from South Korea and Francesca Dego, from Italy.

En el marco de una sala colmada de público, entre los que se contaba con una importante presencia de personalidades de distintos ámbitos –cultura, empresa, espectáculo, etc.- se entregaron los premios a los ganadores y luego los tres primeros, en rol solista, tocaron con el acompañamiento de la Asociación de Profesores de la Orquesta Estable del Teatro Colón bajo la dirección del Maestro Mintz.
The awards were presented to the winners in a hall crowded with people, amongst which we could find a great number of personalities from different areas – culture, commerce, show business, etc – and then, the first three played as soloists, accompanied by the Asociación de Profesores de la Orquesta Estable del Teatro Colón, conducted by Maestro Mintz.

Hyuk Joo Kwun, el tercer puesto, recibió su premio de manos de Ezequiel Eskenazi, Vicepresidente de la Fundación YPF, del jurado David Cerone, y tocó el Tercer movimiento: Rondó. Allegro spirituoso del concierto para violín y orquesta nro. 1 de Re mayor Opus 6 de Niccoló Paganini.
Hyuk Joo Kwun, third prize, got his award from the hands of Ezequiel Ezkenazi, Vicepresident of the YPF Foundation, the juror David Cerone and performed the Third Movement: Rondeau. Allegro spirituoso from the Concerto Nº 1 in D major for violin and orchestra, Op. 6 by Niccolò Paganini.

Nigel Armstrong, el segundo premio, recibió el suyo de manos de Alejandro Zuchowicki, Presidente de la Comunidad Amijai, del jurado Eduard Grach, y ejecutó el Primer movimiento: Allegro moderato del concierto para violín y orquesta en Re menor Opus 47 de Jan Sibelius.
Nigel Armstrong, second prize, got his from Alejandro Zuchowicki, President of the Amijai Community, the juror Eduard Grach, and performed the First Movement: Allegro moderato from the Concerto for violin and orchestra in d minor Op. 47 by Jan Sibelius.

A Jinjoo Cho, la ganadora del concurso, le entregaron su distinción el Ingeniero, Enrique Eskenazi, Presidente de la Fundación YPF, y el Maestro Shlomo Mintz. Ella eligió el Primer movimiento: Andante sostenuto del concierto nro. 1 para violín y orquesta de Bela Bartok y “Tzigane” (Rapsodia del concierto) para violín y orquesta de Maurice Ravel.
Jinjoo Cho, the winner of the Competition, was awarded her prize by engineer Enrique Eskenazi, President of the YPF Foundation, and Maestro Shlomo Mintz. She chose to perform the First Movement: Andante sostenuto from the Concerto Nº 1 BB 48ª by Béla Bartók and “Tzigane” by Maurice Ravel.

The evening culminated in a cocktail for participants and guests, offered by the organisers in the Salón Dorado of the theatre.
